Temporal Instantaneous Attributes

Temporal instantaneous attributes are useful in quantifying sample-by-sample temporal variations in seismic reflection data. The seismic trace can be subdivided into components of phase, frequency, amplitude, etc...Instantaneous attributes isolate/subset the individual waveform components that make up the seismic trace.

Attributes in this category include:

  • Quadrature Trace Amplitude.
  • Energy Envelope.
  • Instantaneous Phase.
  • Carrier.
  • Instantaneous Frequency.
  • 0 and 90 Degree Phase Decomposition.
